Monday
Today we left Harrogate for Saltburn. On the way, we stopped at Great Ayton for an icecream and a walk along the river to see the ducks. On the evening we went for a walk in the woods, through the Valley Gardens to the beach and along the pier, it was windy and the waves were quite high which was good for the surfers. We then went to the Marine pub for a meal.
Tuesday
This morning was raining so we went to the Lifeboat Museum and up into the viewing gallery and saw the lifeboats in the sea. We went for a walk in Redcar, then home for dinner. In the afternoon we went to Stewarts Park in Middlesbrough, we saw some llamas, deer, goats and rabbits. We then went to the Captain Cook Museum which was really good. In the evening, we went to a carvery in a local restaurant, home to watch television and then to bed.
Wednesday
Today we went to Runswick Bay along the coast road to Whitby it is a small fishing village. Then we went to Whitby and saw the Grand Turk an Old Galleon in the Harbour. We strolled around the town looking at the old shops in the old town then we stopped for fish & chips on the way home. We stopped at “Scaling Dam Reservoir and looked at all the birds in the nature reserve, then we went to Danby Moor Centre which tells you all about the local area and then home for tea before going for a shandy and a game of pool.
Thursday
A bit of a lie in this morning! Had breakfast then went to Guisborough Market to buy presents then home for lunch. After lunch we went to Preston Park Museum and Ground. The Museum is like an old town outside with old shops, Police Station and forge etc. Inside is like an old house through the ages. After that we went to a garden centre for coffee and scones.
Sadly it’s time to pack for my journey home.
Friday
Left home after cooked breakfast to Thirsk to look round shops and have a coffee. Then on to Harrogate to go home.
