A preview of vintage fashion for The House of Avalon show with Emma

Retail and coffee shop assistant Emma has worked at The House of Avalon for over a year now and is looking forward to her first fashion show.

Emma was introduced to The House of Avalon by a support worker from Mencap, started working as a volunteer and is now employed as a permanent member of staff. Her usual duties include helping customers, and working in the café and kitchen.

But recently Emma has been allocated a new role, of fashion model, and will take part in a vintage fashion show on 26th October at the Guildhall in York.

Emma has had the enjoyable task of choosing her favourite vintage dresses and accessories from the hundreds of beautiful, quality garments at vintage clothes shop The House of Avalon in High Petergate, York.

Her choice includes a subtly sparkling silver Blane’s fitted dress, a 1960’s bronze and brown patterned dress with flattering pleated detail, and a smart mustard and black tartan suit.

Adding glamour to the show, Emma is also to model a gorgeous 1950’s metallic teal dress, with gathered detail to the bodice and matching bolero jacket.

Emma’s favourite outfit is a stylish black cocktail dress with a boat line neck and black feathers to the hem.

The look will be completed on the night with the assistance of a make up artist and stylist. Emma's enthusiasm and affinity to the clothes she models shine through - she will look fabulous on the night.

If you would like to view these outfits, and many other quality vintage clothes and accessories - which will also be available for sale on the night - please ring The House of Avalon 01904 622055.

Tickets are £10 each, and include canapés and live music by Sinatra style singer Moray Innes. We look forward to seeing you there!
