In July, the first Harrogate sponsored space hopper race took place on Oatlands Stray. The Hopalon Challenge, organised by Harrogate-based charity, Avalon, raised funds to help vulnerable and disabled people take a holiday with Avalon Breakaway, and also support the work of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
Avalon Breakaway Manager, Mary Scurr (pictured right), hopped over and presented a cheque to Tony Doveston of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, for £750. Avalon would like to thank everyone who participated and contributed to the event, which raised a total of £2100.
“Well done to everyone who put such a huge effort into organising the event and to all those who supported them so generously,” commented Mary.
