My marketing internship has provided me with the opportunity to set myself targets to achieve what I have been weak in and be motivated to strive to achieve them. One of the areas was lack of confidence, initiative and generating different ideas. I evaluated myself has 3/5 before I started the internship. However The Garden Gang project involved undertaking independent research and decisions which have increased my confidence. I have also had the opportunity to attend a training session in York, which was a great and rewarding experience, since I learnt a lot about the third sector organisation and its commitment to help the community. I would therefore carry this knowledge forward and work in a charity organisation to increase their awareness in such a competitive sector.
It’s been valuable to build on my communications skills and also explore Leeds to promote The Garden Gang. This firsthand experience made me realise what could work and what cannot work to improve the whole promotion process. The report that me and my team partner (Mohammed) produced outlines the future prospectus, which can be used to increase awareness and demand of the service…
The Avalon Group and its team members are great; it’s nice to work within an environment where everyone is so friendly and supporting. My supervisor, Lisa, has always been there if I required any assistance throughout the whole internship. The Garden Gang team and its Co-ordinator, James, are also very friendly and it’s wonderful to see what a good job they are doing.
