Angelena Fixter

Group Chief Executive

As Chief Executive, Angelena carries responsibility for the overall management and leadership of The Avalon Group. Her expertise allows her to ensure that The Avalon Group continues to be a success, and that its core values are central to everything it does.

Angelena is a passionate and innovative leader with over 20 years experience of working in social care and housing. She was recently awarded the Institute of Director’s “Director of the Year” award for the third sector in Yorkshire and Humberside (2007), was a finalist in the Great Northern Care awards in 2010, and in 2011 for Entrepreneur of the year in the BL Social care awards.

Angelena is also the Chair of the Board of East North East Homes (ENEHL) having previously been the Chair of ENEHL. ENEHL is a company providing housing management for Leeds City Council. It is responsible for 19,000 homes across the city. She has also spent some time working for Barnados.

Angelena has experience in complex financial, strategic and operational management as well as developing successful business strategy, leading changes and mergers. In addition, she has been effective in promoting personalisation, customer consultation and a positive working culture with a variety of organisations, all of which are key values of The Avalon Group.
