Julia Oxtoby

Group HR and Corporate Services Director

Julia Oxtoby has over 20 years experience of working in Human Resources. Her knowledge and experience has been key in managing the rapid expansion of The Avalon Group over the last few years.

Julia was born in Bradford and gained a degree in Applied Social Science from the University of Nottingham. Since then Julia work in HR has included working for 13 years in the NHS and 8 years in the private sector (legal services) before coming to Avalon in 2005. Her knowledge of both the private and public sectors, and her experience in general management, made her the ideal person to support a non-profit company, such as The Avalon Group, when it was looking to expand.

Since 2005 she has been instrumental in laying the framework necessary for The Avalon Group to grow. This work has included revamping the IT system, creating a new employee database, updating policies and procedures and managing the recruitment of new staff to the organisation.
