Deputy Director of Operations
With a background in counselling, mental health and advocacy, I came to The Avalon Group in 2002 and have had a whirlwind journey since then. Avalon is an organisation committed to recognising the great potential in people, and I have been able to apply my passion for people in a continually expanding way, first becoming a Service Manager and then Locality Manager for our York and Doncaster localities, before in 2016 being appointed as Deputy Director of Operations.
We’re a charity whose work ethic and commitment to achieving the very best alongside our customers sees us consistently providing responsive, personalised care and support to enhance and enrich the quality of people’s lives.
We’re also a family, and I love that when I come to work I am greeted by true friends, and people who value not just what I can do, but what I have to say when it comes to making improvements and positive changes for the people we support.
I love being inspired by new experiences, so I’m always up for trying something that can either add to who I am or just become a fantastic memory. I love walking; appreciating the free, natural things in life such as countryside, woods, coastal walks or just our everyday surroundings. I love to relax, reflect and read.
Still being relatively new in my current post, I am looking forward to all I can bring at an organisational level, and I relish the new challenges I will undertake as we look to keep growing Avalon over the next few years.
