Locality Manager – West Yorkshire
I started my career with The Avalon Group back in 2006, where I joined as a Support Worker. I loved the ability it gave me to learn so many skills, gain experience and push myself to do more. It was these attributes that saw me promoted to Support Co-ordinator, Service Manager and then in 2015 I became Locality Manager; a hugely proud moment.
What’s great about The Avalon Group is the diversity of the support we provide. No day is ever the same and we thrive on offering exciting opportunities to both our workforce and customers. Simply put we are a passionate, person centred organisation.
We love a good trip out here at the West Yorkshire office, and in the last year alone have arranged customer trips and breaks such as: Boating holidays, Coronation Street visits, Blackpool Illuminations and the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We are planning even more such activities in 2016, including a holiday for some of our customers to Benidorm!
My greatest achievement is being nominated for the Great British Care Awards for the ‘putting people first’ category back in 2012. My team and I were nominated for the exceptional support given to our service user with Multiple Sclerosis, and to be recognised in this way was such a great feeling.
In my spare time I like to spend quality family time with my husband and 2 sons, they certainly keep me busy with all their activities!!
