Deputy Director of Operations
I came to Avalon after many years in Social Housing. Of course since then my knowledge of Social Care in practical, legislative and regulatory aspects has grown alongside my role managing several of our localities’ operations. I take pride in ensuring our policies and procedures are robust and comprehensive.
As a member of the Directors team we provide leadership and direction to the organisation. However our open door policy, and the fact that all Directors are involved in day to day aspects of work meeting with customers and staff delivering services on the ground results in us being part of the overall team, and not distanced from day to day operations.
I thoroughly enjoy my job at Avalon, and particularly like that I see and learn new things every day. This organisation is about people, and people are ever changing; ever evolving. Avalon is a great organisation to work for both from the perspective of providing excellent customer care but also in the way it values its staff and promotes from within where possible.
At home I run an 8 acre smallholding, and am head groom/transport manager for my wife, who competes 3 horses at Dressage up to ‘Prix St George’ level. So as you can imagine, I keep myself very busy at all times!
