Flexible dementia support you can trust
Often people think that following a dementia diagnosis the future will mean residential care and separation from family. But with The Avalon Group you can find support to fit your needs, enabling you to stay in your home for as long as possible, surrounded by those you love.
We have over 20 years’ experience delivering person centred, bespoke support in communities across the north of England.
We can offer you a variety of options to best benefit you, and to help your individual needs to live well with dementia.
After you get in touch with us, one of our dementia specialists will arrange an initial meeting at a time and place to suit you, to discuss your needs and support.
We ensure your dignity, safety and peace of mind are prioritised by guiding you through the necessary steps at your own pace.
We then agree a flexible package of support with you, which will be regularly reviewed.
Support for daily life
Our trained, specialist staff can offer support with anything you might require, from 30 minutes per week up to 24 hours per day. For example:
- Grocery shopping
- Attending appointments
- Participating in hobbies
- Personal care e.g. assistance with bathing, dressing, eating, medication etc.
- Home maintenance/support e.g. meal preparation, gardening, cleaning, washing and ironing
- Simple ways to modify your home so that you retain independence and feel safe
We can also offer short breaks and respite through our award winning Shared Lives service. In Shared Lives you are offered a break in the home of a family of trained carers, with whom you are carefully matched based on your interests and lifestyle, as well as your individual needs.
