What is Shared Lives?
Shared Lives carers open their homes to provide either a short or long term living arrangement to people with a care or support need. It’s similar to fostering, but for adults rather than children. Most importantly, Shared Lives offers personalised support in a safe, family environment, helping people to grow and thrive.
As a carer, you will provide opportunities for people to live fulfilling lives, supporting the development of skills and promoting good mental health so that the people you care for become active, valued members in your local community, and within your family unit.
You will be self-employed, but supported by The Avalon Group with things like training, record keeping and support planning so that you can deliver your role with confidence. Avalon also matches you with the people you will be supporting.
