Shared Lives Development Specialist (Doncaster & York)

Do you believe great lives are built through relationships, belonging and real homes?

At Avalon, Shared Lives sits at the heart of how we help people live their best lives — and we’re ready to grow. We’re looking for a confident, outward-facing Shared Lives Development Specialist to champion, promote and expand our Shared Lives service across Doncaster and York.

This is a role for someone who loves being out in the community, building connections and turning belief into action. You’ll lead the recruitment and assessment of new Shared Lives carers, raise the local profile of Shared Lives, and work closely with Doncaster and York City Councils and partner organisations to create sustainable growth. You’ll be commercially aware, opportunity-focused and confident selling the value of Shared Lives — always in a values-led, person-centred way.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Are passionate about Shared Lives and relationship-based support
  • Are confident influencing, presenting and building trust
  • Bring commercial awareness and a growth mindset
  • Have experience in recruitment, assessment or service development within health or social care
  • Are organised, values-driven and genuinely great with people

Why join Avalon?

  • A warm, ambitious charity with strong values
  • Real opportunity to shape and grow a key local service
  • Supportive leadership and space to develop your career
  • Work that has visible, meaningful impact on people’s lives

If you’re motivated by people, community and possibility — and you want a role where energy, ideas and values really matter — we’d love to hear from you.
