Locality Manager – Skipton
Hi I’m Lucy, I am Skipton’s Locality Manager, and the longest standing member of the team, having been with Avalon since 2008.
Before I worked for Avalon I trained as a nursery nurse but mainly worked as a private nanny. I then went on to have my three children before starting with Avalon. My first position was as support worker. I’ve been really lucky to have opportunities to learn and grow with Avalon, progressing to Support Co-ordinator, Service Manager and in 2022 was proud to become Locality Manager.
I love spending time with our customers and still do that alongside my manger role any chance I get. I run an ‘out and about group’ where we all meet socially to do lots of different activities. I’ve planned at least ten different holidays with groups of customers or individuals and I’ve been on many with them. I love to see people enjoying themselves, and in the holiday setting they have so much fun.
When I’m not working, I enjoy cooking and especially baking. I also do a lot of swimming and just lately wild swimming; I have recently done an outdoor swim in November. I only stay in roughly ten minutes but definitely feel alive when I have got out. My aim is to be still doing them in December and do one on Christmas Day!
