I have always worked in Human Resources throughout my career, and spent 10 years as a HR Director in Adult Social Care, so am very aware of the amazing work that the sector does and the challenges it faces. My current role is Head of Organisational Development at Leeds Trinity University, which mainly involves me trying to make the workplace as good as it possibly can be from a staff development, leadership and engagement view point, so it’s very busy and I get involved in all sorts of interesting things!
Around three years ago, at the start of the pandemic, I worked for Avalon as a part-time, interim HR Director and was so drawn by the warm and friendly culture at Avalon and of the work that everyone does, that I applied to be a Trustee and have been on the Board for over two years now. I hope that I bring a good external and objective perspective on a range of matters, and have particular specialisms in Human Resources, Leadership and Equality & Diversity.
Outside work, I live in North Leeds with my husband, 12 year old dog and 1 year old cat (cat likes the dog but the feeling isn’t mutual!) and enjoy cycling, swimming and spending time with my grandchildren.
