An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to lead our Wakefield Short Breaks services. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role will provide professional leadership and operational management across the two services, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred support for people, families and carers.

You will maintain CQC compliance, deliver Wakefield Council contract requirements, manage quality assurance and risk, and lead a positive staff team culture focused on safeguarding, outcomes and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing staff across both Wakefield services.
  • Maintaining safe staffing, effective rotas, supervision, appraisal and training compliance.

  • Building strong relationships with Wakefield Council, families, carers, commissioners and partner agencies.
  • Using audits, records and service information to improve quality, safety and performance.

What you need…

  • Experience of managing regulated care services, strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, quality assurance and risk management.

  • Strong leadership, communication, partnership-working and decision-making skills.
  • To be a car driver with use of a vehicle for business purposes.
  • To be able to work flexibly and participate in the out of hours on call service.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or willingness to achieve this, is required.

Criminal records will be taken into account for recruitment purposes only when the conviction is relevant. Having a ‘spent’ or ‘unspent’ conviction will not necessarily bar you from employment – this will depend on the circumstances and background to your offence(s) and we will consider these on a case by case basis.
